Botox Alternatives for Wrinkles

I'm fifty-three...And I've never resorted to cosmetic procedures—no injections, no cosmetic surgery, no Botox. And I have no need for them. I would like to share with you how I keep wrinkles at bay.

After applying your night cream, place about a 2-inch strip on your forehead, an inch and a half strip on your brow crease, on the crow's feet at the corners of your eyes, on your cheek lines, and on any other wrinkles you'd like to smooth.

  1. Hi. I tried this but the tape left marks. How can I prevent that? Thanks in advance

  2. Hi Tonya, Does this really work? I am now on my second night of having paper tape on my forehead and under eyes but does it really work? I wonder that it worked to you because you are on a raw food?

Update: on the 2nd day and 3rd day, I noticed folded skin from the tape. Probably from sleeping because my pillow presses my face when I sleep. I don't have wrinkles on the side of my eyes and forehead though I developed number 11 lines or frown lines between eyebrow, bit laughing line and eyebags because of facial expressions or habits whenever something is going on (frown lines) and everytime I talk (I squint my eyes which formed eyebags and it looked bigger/bulge). But after removing the tape, I had wrinkles on the side of the eyes, on the laughing line. and on my forehead which scared me. I used tape to correct frown lines, and eyebags and for prevention of wrinkles, I placed on the side of my eyes though it shows when I laugh or smile and on my forehead. The laugh line with the tape seemed worse after removing it. I think the best way I can do is to use the tape hours before sleeping and remove them when I am going to sleep. Though I also find it hard to remove tape under my eyes and it pulls the skin under my eyes too even I had oils on my face.

I believe that controlling our facial expressions/habits is the best thing to avoid wrinkles. I can say I don't have lines or wrinkles on my forehead because I made habit of not raising my eyebrows at any situation to avoid developing lines on my forehead. I noticed from other people that they all have lines on their foreheads because they raise their eyebrows a lot. It is the same with my 11 line between my eyebrows. I am starting to see 11 lines because of 3 things: if there is aching in my body, irritating situations, and worrying. Same goes with eyebags, it is forming because of squinting and languid eyes every time I talk to people that causes eyebags to form more and more each day and it made me look old. Every time I talk, I use my eyes and I feel pressure under my eyes. I have to practice my facial expressions from now on and putting tape will only help correct it in a way but no matter how I put tape all over my face, if I don't correct my facial habits then this will become worse and may develop new wrinkles.

  3. Can I start doing that on the age of 38?

  4. Is this permanent ? (The tape method)

  5. Thank you! There's no specific brand or location I buy them from, often online. In fact most of the clothes you see in my videos/pictures I've had for years. I think the most important thing is to develop your own style. After that things fall into place, you may even be able to create good outfits from what you already have, arranging them in an unusual new way.
In my book Your Right to Be Beautiful I devote a whole chapter to this topic.

  6. How do you get the tape to stick, if you have cream on?

    ReplyDelete
  7. In response to Teresa Hoffman's question about getting the tape to stick, in my experience if you apply just a small amount of cream, the tape stays on pretty well. Try it.

  8. I do the TAPES when I want to look refresh and young-looking in the morning.  I wear them overnight. I Massage softly my face when I take the tapes off, and then put a good MOISTERIZER all over, after washing my face with cold water. It works! Thanks, Tonya!

  9. I don't have an wrinkles (yet) but have a small line in the forehead, only when I squint in the sun. I went to the plastic surgeon and he told me there was a possibility of BLINDNESS with Botox and there is no way I would consider that now. I always go for natural alternatives, thanks for this!

  11. I'm having trouble finding non-toxic tape. Anybody know of any good brands? I'm concerned about the adhesives in most tapes!

  12. Hi tonya Wen does one se The results from the tape on the wrinkles

  13. Doesn't this method stretches the skin ?

  14. This actually works! I started about 2 weeks ago and my lines are significantly reduced already. They are much less noticeable.

As suggested, make sure you use a little Vaseline on the areas where you plan to apply the tape.

  15. It DOES work! Amazing! For me, I put a serum/night cream on underneath, then left the tape on overnight and, without much expectation, took it off this morning - one night and already I could see a truly remarkable difference. I can't wait to see what will happen with more time. (I bought the sensitive paper tape, and it left no redness at all.) My drug store is going to wonder why I'm buying all this tape! ;-)

  16. don't use vaseline under the tape people as mentioned at 0.54. Vaseline=by product of petroleum. With being conscious of health i'm not sure why Tonya suggested this.

  17. Hi Milly, good point. I meant to point to something that most people have around that would work, but it's not the best choice. Oil-based creams can work well. I personally use my own 100% natural night cream.

  18. Certainly learn about whichever tape you choose to make sure there are no toxic ingredients. Good point.

  19. I am happy to see someone else has had good long-term experience with tape! I just buy the simple inexpensive paper tape sold in most convenience stores like Walgreens.

  20. Where do you buy your clothes. I love your outfits

  21. A simple drugstore bought micropore paper tape works great. It's not a must, but I find best results with a good facial cream. I now offer a Night Cream on my site that does not contain any preservatives.

  22. so I don't quite understand. how the tape acts not to have wrinkles ? Is it the simple fact that you don't smile or you don't moove your face so you don't make wrinkles ? Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  23. Tape applied on the wrinkles smooths them out. You can train yourself to show emotions by using your eyes more, and smile without crinkling your face too much.

  24. Would you reccomend moisturing with coconut oil? I've heard it's good for moisturizing but I want to know if it will help prevent/reduce wrinkles.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yes, it is very good way to moisturize your skin and may have some wrinkle prevention effects. But don't forget about exfoliation. Go to my site and do a search for "dry brushing"

  26. Can I put the tapes directly under my eyes for fine lines?

  31. @yamie007 As long as the tape doesn't get in your eye. Experiment first for a couple of hours during the day.

  32. Have you done research on the skin benefits of topical cayenne pepper or capsaicin on your face? It has a high source of Vitamin A &C, more and minerals too. Can you please give your thoughts on using cayenne pepper? Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  33. @yamie007 Actually, I have developed a product for the scalp--Scalp Tonic with Cayenne Pepper and Mustard Greens Extracts. If you go to my website and then select "Natural Beauty Store", "hair care" you can learn more about it. The purpose of the Cayenne Pepper included in the scalp tonic is the improved blood circulation it provides, as well as capsaicin and Vitamn C as you mention.

  34. @Tonyazavasta That's great, but I wanted to know about topical cayenne pepper on the face. Do you know anything about that?

  36. Facial exercises might help. Also apply castor oil on your lashes and around the eyes every night.
