Do you think this is because they're holding their card close to the chest OR is it that there isn't much to show? What would they have to show to blow you away?”
00:37:20 - - Josh from Maryland - “Bethesda Studios published "A Note to Our Fans" yesterday, and I was wondering what y'all's take on it was. Is it just Bethesda trying to get ahead of any backlash to the inevitable bugs that come with launching a brand new online platform, or is there something more to the letter?”

  4. Greg don’t be an online ID apologist! I’m with Andrea, this is total bullshit!! Why even roll out this feature if it includes all of these caveats.

  5. With all due respect Andrea, the 'A' in steam absolutely should be there because art and music programs are constantly getting cut in the US at least

  6. I pay for youtube/streamer content with my time. That's enough for me.

  7. The shadow of the tomb raider thing is pretty silly. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to a second playthrough once all the DLC is out, well worth the $60 for me (plus whatever the dlc will cost, I didn’t buy it yet).

Microtransactions in a $60 is still pretty gross to me, but I do think making an example of assassins creed is off base. It’s always been easy to ignore in those games.

Greg: You wanna talk about some news?
    Andrea: Not till it’s fantastic!

She totally said that! Greg’s not crazy.

  10. I was the absolute opposite in school. I loved Math and it was my favorite subject. I hated art, but probably because my teacher was a bitch. I'm probably in the minority, but I absolutely had to be convinced to do art. Lol

  11. "Why don't people want to pay for the thing?"

Because they already payed for the thing. Microtransactions in $60 AAA games are fucking insulting.

  12. I will clarify that the reason people are A LOT more sensitive on pricing in video game is because games are just too expensive. When there only were 50 million gamers worldwide it made sense for games to be more expensive but today there is a wayy bigger market and game prices are so damn high already the market of people who want to buy a lot of games vs the people who do is shocking. Look at how many people have bought Minecraft, PUBG, or keep buying battlepasses on Fortnite. People are willing to pay, but to pay $60 is waayy too steep for most gamers already. If movies cost $60 per ticket you would still have certain succesful movies, but on average the business would go way down. This is why anualized games do INSANE numbers when most other games don't. People are treating games more like yearly expense iphone upgrades than entertainment products they want to use. If games cost $30 I promise the industry would quadrouple.

  13. I am happy with my PSN name, but even if it was asshat99 I would definitely give it a big, NOPE!

  14. Gamer: Hey Sony I wanted to change my name.
Sony: Okay you us to change your name? Fine but we will need to break your thumbs.
    Gamer: That's fantastic..... wait what?
Sony: (Holding Hammer) You want your name change right? Then we gotta break them thumbs sorry rules are rules.

  15. Think I’d only be annoyed if game went on sale a week after. But 2 months or what ever is fine.

  16. Why is Kevin talking so much?? I thought the idea was that this was supposed to be a more professional show without morning show like shenanigans. Also why is the shot so zoomed in?

  18. the person in off is very irritating

  19. "people have a hesitancy to pay for things" says the person who got a free code for the game that I spent $90 on.. not a good argument.

  20. Huge fan but the only sticking point I get it when you guys talking about prices for games/DLC (and going only digital only in general). An average AAA game is around $60 then if you want DLC can be an extra 20/30 dollars, then if you want to buy maybe lets say 2 or 3 a year that $180 plus if you want DLC included. My point is when was the last time both of you paid for a full price game and not a code given to you? The average person has to be smart and maybe wait and shop around to get a cheaper deal on games.
Its the same reason why most people don't go full digital its way more expensive on the PSN/Xbox store than in a store or even Amazon, we don't have the luxury of been giving free game codes like you guys. Its not a dig well done for being able to get them but you cant get angry when people complain about paying more on a game when they have already payed full price.

  21. Yikes Andrea sounds really out of touch here. I don’t understand why ppl don’t want to pay for things says the influencer that gets most things for free. A little self awareness goes a long way

  22. Instead of changing pre-existing psn names since it’s buggy AF, maybe they could have a linked type new account. Example : psn fluffyfluffytruffle (not mine so no idea if real) is the OG PSN and new account is fluffy (not the most creative) but you can transfer saves, purchases, friendlist, & trophies. Seems like an easier thing to do (I’m not tech savvy so no idea if this is worse)

  24. Andrea is dead wrong on X0. They have already said there will be new announcements and the obsidian acquisition has already leaked

  25. Dear Andrea. I like you, because you are usually a very calm and collected presence in this industry that, let's be honest is encouraged to cater more to "manbabies" who value feelings over facts, logic and numbers. But your stance on art in education is both extremely uninformed, and really a relic of the past.

Firstly, you can look into basic things such as the studies that clearly show adding more arts classes for kids at a younger age make them more motivated students because if you associate school with fun you will get more out of it. Especially at that age.

Also look at the broader spectrum of which countries have the most informed students and which countries do better in getting students to higher levels of education. Kids who are good at things such as math etc during early education is shown in multiple studies to have tendencies to drop out of higher education early. Citing school fatigue to be the reason. You can clearly see that the countries that value and encourage art in early schools and throughout the entire mandatory schooling period have way higher test scores and are more likely to get higher levels of degrees.

You say kids don't need encouragement to do art, which is flat out false. Being encouraged to think creatively about problems at early ages has both made for better scientists, workers, leaders, and teachers. The US typically ascribe to the "banking method" of education. Where kids are being treated as banks you give information too and then they have it. Which is just false.

Very few people, and even fewer young people are able to absorb high amounts of information that way, and especially information they think of as "useless". This is why so few of us remember how to do math. Your brain doesn't see it as useful, and frankly it isn't. You will have way more practical uses for having a brain that understands responses to color than you will for being able to find X.

Look to Finland and Japan. Both are countries that value art in lower levels of education and they have on average the most educated and the highest educated people in the world. Finland doesn't even have homework, though that is another discussion. The US only ranks high in terms of ignorance. I understand the notion you have to want kids to "learn math not art". Because the way you were taught that was the way. But science does not support this claim.

I take this seriously because a lot of the people watching this look up to you. And you just fed them an uninformed lie they will take with them to their kids, or even themselves. Make your kids to art. They will be smarter more logical people. And yes make them. They will not do it on their own.
