I have found mixing EL Double Wear Light with L'oreal Glowtion or Mac Strobe Cream to give a wonderful velvet finish and make it more smooth and workable on mature dryer skin. Also the new EL Double Wear concealer that's dual ended offers a wonderful smoothing serum on one end to help combat problematic rough skin and plump under eyes. Do Not use this foundation under eyes or on lids..way too sticky for mature skin. Also for a bit more coverage I use a few drops of No 7 foundation pigment drops. Pure pigment to add more coverage to any foundation. Play with this foundation, add more moisture, even add a drop of facial oil, as needed and it can be lovely. It dries nicely and not drying matte..you may not even need powder to set it.

ReplyDeleteI think the foundation looks very very dry and highlights the wrinkles on your cheek next to your mouth quite a lot. The eye make-up looks far too heavy for your age and particularly because you have full lids. It was a bit of a shock (sorry to say). For you, I really think a much lighter eye makeup and only tight-lining together with the smallest flick on the outer corners and a tiny smidge of smudge along the bottom (outwards towards middle), and a much finer and lighter mascara (that one's far too heavy; try Cover Girl Clump Crusher) would look a lot more elegant. Sorry if I sound rather direct, but I like to give my honest opinion rather than giving superficial comments. Instead of using a primer, maybe a moisturiser would be better. Also, it's better to apply this foundation with the Beauty Blender (slightly damp) than with a brush and dragging the skin around. Take care 😉. P.S: It's hot "flushes", not "flashes". A typical mistake that Americans often make, lol.
ReplyDeleteTry a stippling method with a damp sea sponge rather than a swiping motion with a brush. U have 58 yo skin.

ReplyDeleteLove the foundation on you, looks beautiful! This may be one I try. I used to want full coverage when I was younger, but now, not so much. Love that it did not settle into the lines.

ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to skincare, if you're trying out something worthwhile and new some people go thru a purge phase...that's why when I try new things I give them a fair shake... probably at least a month...with my RetinA I didn't like my skin for like 3 months but now I'm going on 7 months and OMG...every month is getting better and better!! I'm so pleased... especially combined with my regimen of Vit C serum and AHA/BHA cleansers and peels...my skin is so happy now....I always gave up on RetinA when I initially started it at 39...always on and off since then but never more than 3 weeks bc I couldn't stand the dryness and peeling ( but then again I had to work everyday and it just didn't mesh with makeup)..I'm going to be 53 soon and I'm retired now so I have no excuses for not pushing thru the UGLIES with RetinA lol....thank God I'm past that point now....I think the foundation looks beautiful on you!!!

Hope your mom is doing good . been getting colder here and been wondering if you are going to do a halloween look this year for us. also want to thank you for the annisary look that you did a while back ,I looked fabulous in the blue and gold high light on my eyes :) The blue matched my dress and the gold matched my new bracelet .
