Redness, pore size, and fine textural and color irregularities can be remedied with nano fractional radio frequency technology that deeply heats the skin promoting exfoliation and collagen production without burning. Lasers use light energy that often is too much heat for the surface of the skin in patients with sensitive skin types or darker skin tones. Radio frequency is more color blind and has limited effect on the damage to the skin surface making it safe for those with acne or rosacea, pigmentation or melasma, and burns or scars. The downtime is limited to the strength of the desired treatment which can range from a day or redness to a week of light peeling and swelling. A hand-held device uses micro-fractional pins to deliver energy through the skin's surface to the collagen-producing layers below, stimulating skin contraction, exfoliation, and long-term collagen remodeling. A series of treatments are suggested at the beginning to stimulate change to the texture of the skin and then maintenance every 2-3 months after.
