Using Differin to Treat Wrinkles, Anti-aging | Application Tutorial Tips
I have been using Differin which is similar to retin-A for reducing fine lines and wrinkles to my mature skin. I have been using Differin, which is also known as Adapalene for about a month now, or a little longer. This is an over the counter cream that is mostly known for clearing up acne in young skin, or teenagers. I talk about my nighttime skincare routine and when and how much of this retinoid I put on my skin.

Dr Dray has done an update video and no longer recommends Differin to people for wrinkle manangemt and she has since switched to tetronoin. ( Retin A ) Maybe you should check out her new video.
ReplyDeleteShe only suggests this Differin to acne patients.
my acne makes me suicidal. imagine every pore on your face a pustule
ReplyDeletePlease do an updated video because Dr.Dray (who I actually do not watch anymore because her videos are ridiculously LONG and she rambles. I actually had trouble watching this almost 40 minute long video 😕) has a video out titled "Why I stopped using Differin".
ReplyDeleteHUH! I always wondered why my retinoid ended up in my eyes ! I thought I needed to put the stuff as close to my eyes as possible. derp.
ReplyDeleteMaria you are a godsend!!! This was such an awesome and thoroughly educational video and I am so grateful! I've had the differin just sitting in my drawer because I was scared to try it, but now I'm ready to go!!! The best advice for me was the amount because I tend to go ham, lol! ❤️U!
ReplyDeleteSplenda is a toxin in your body. Try monkfruit natural sweetener. All natural, no carbs.
ReplyDeleteDifferin (Adapalene) DOES work against photoaging. There are several YouTubers who are claiming Differin does not work against wrinkles, uneven skin tone or texture, sun spots, etc. There are few studies that have demonstrated Differin, although at 0.3% concentration, to be effective at repairing sun damage. Also, Differin has strong anti inflammatory potential that Tretinoin and Tazoretene do not. This can also be a pathway to improving and repairing sun damage.
ReplyDeleteCheck out the studies below:
Adapalene Gel 0.3% Versus Tretinoin 0.05% Emollient Cream for Treatment of Photodamage
" Adapalene 0.3% gel showed non-inferior efficacy to tretinoin 0.05% cream as treatment for photoaged skin, with a similar safety profile. Adapalene 0.3% gel may therefore be considered a safe and effective option for the treatment of mild or moderate photoaging"

Clinical efficacy of adapalene (differin(®)) 0.3% gel in Chilean women with cutaneous photoaging
"We conclude that adapalene 0.3% gel is a new safe and effective approach to photoaging"
This is long and rambling. Stopped watching.
ReplyDeleteI think sensitivity depends on if you already have sensitive skin, or if your skin isn’t used to anti aging products. I used Alpha Hydrox 14% glycolic acid serum on my normal skin for years, and then switched to 0.25% RetinA with no problems at all.
ReplyDeleteIt’s safe to use Differin with products that have hyaluronic acid in them.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate your explanation. Yes I am a doctor dray fan but you have really helped.
ReplyDeletei love Dr. Dray!
ReplyDeleteare the results permanent or do you need to always use it?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the review. It was a delight to hear about and see your experiences with this gel. You look radiant too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Information. I suppose a pea sice is not enough for my face. I will try 😁
ReplyDeleteMan, I think I screwed my first week up pretty badly by applying this directly after washing and moisturizing.
ReplyDeleteThis second week I've been waiting the 20mins after my face wash and moisturizer and already my skin is A LOT less sensitive. I'm still pretty red and flakey in the morning, but my skin isn't burning anymore. I am using it every night, but maybe I'll switch to every other night if my skin doesn't calm down in these 2nd-3rd weeks. I'm interested in the aging benefits at 33 years old, but I'm also mainly wanting to deal with my acne. It's the kind like raised bumps under my skin, so while I rarely have big red zits, the texture of my skin is never smooth or glowy. Thanks for the tips! I hope this product is still working out for you.
I don't think differin is designed for anti aging it is only for acne, try tritinoin or retinol instead
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing Maria your very well explained experience with Differen. I actually watch Dr. Dray's video and she uses it or used it every other day and I was a little nervous to use it every other day, but I'm glad I ran into your video I'll be starting with 2 x a week and see how that goes. I have some acne not too bad, but I do have some melasma I'm hoping with the cell turn over it may lighten it at least a little because I'd like to to use a tinted SPF instead of full coverage foundation eventually, thanks again God bless you 😘
ReplyDeleteTretnoin (sp) has been proven to prevent sick skin cells ( cancerous) Unfortunately, Differin hasn't got the same studies to support it.
ReplyDeleteVaseline is a petroleum product. No thanks.
