I imagine it absorbs heat really fast due to the radiation trapping. Does its reflectivity change at different frequencies?
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS SO MUCH
ReplyDeleteIncredible! Just wondering why you have snus bags behind the foil!
ReplyDeleteIs this the stuff Will Tsai used on americas got talent?
ReplyDeleteargh! will ye be making portable black holes like in the cartoons? I can think of a few good pranks with it, like lacing a the other side of a corner sidewalk, so people think they be falling into an abyss of nothingness the moment they turn around the corner.
ReplyDeletelots of people are working during what the applications could be and I was just wondering if this could be implemented in solar panels to increase efficiency.
ReplyDeletebe interesting to coat the world's roundest object in it...a 3d object that looks 2d from every possible angle
ReplyDelete75% of this clip is the shiny backside of that aluminium. All i wanted to see , really.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your achievements SNS. This is truly amazing. This is real camouflage tech. Have you guys managed to measure the refractive index yet? I want some sooo baaaad. Black is my favorite color! How will they Patone this? AMAZING!!!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful
ReplyDeleteThis could be the proverbial Tip of the Lightsaber.
ReplyDeletewhat other materials can you do this with?
ReplyDeleteif you touch it it gets destroyed easily. and it's extremely expensive.
ReplyDeleteWow!, the blackest my screen can get!
ReplyDeleteSo... when can I get clothes that are this black?
ReplyDeleteIf the material is this black, and I suppose, traps the light on its material, doesnt it means that the temperature surface of your material rises really fast? After all, the heat must be irradiated otherwise your material would start to glow red.
ReplyDeleteAmazing you can't get a specular of that stuff no matter what.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhen can I buy a coffee table "Monolith"?
I want one now!
perfect for backdrops
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool
ReplyDeleteWow
ReplyDeleteI can think of no better way to show this than your krinkled foil... amazing, anyone who has tried to paint a black car knows how impossible it is to hide surface imperfections.
Who remembered Tycho Magnetic Anomaly? I think Vantablack is a suitable candidate for TMAs. :)
ReplyDeleteProbably the best demonstration yet.
ReplyDeleteYou create the blackest material in the world and you can't shoot it with something better than a cellphone?
ReplyDeleteCould you guys get a good camera?
ReplyDeleteNow imagine being in a room laced with that stuff, you couldn't see anything, but it's still there.
ReplyDeleteI need this for my soul.
ReplyDeletedinner's ready
ReplyDeleteremembering Critters.
