Facial expression wrinkles start to emerge on the face due to the action of muscle contractions and the loss of elasticity in the skin.

This patient was noticing the early signs of crows feet as well as forehead wrinkles. Although these lines appeared to be quite minor in appearance, she wanted to take action as soon as possible and decided to undergo a Botox treatment performed by Dr. U.

Dr. U placed conservative amounts of the injection in very specific locations on the patient’s face. This was done to relax the muscles which contribute to crows feet wrinkles and forehead lines. The results of this approach are shown here in this video.

Botox is a drug which blocks openings on the nerve fibers. This prevents the release of an excitatory neurotransmitter known as acetylcholine. Normally, this chemical acts as a signal which causes the muscle fibers to contract. This is how Botox works to keep facial muscles relaxed and reduce the appearance of wrinkles on the face.

In this video, the patient is not able to make the usual creases on her forehead. Dr. U applied a very conservative amount of Botox to maintain a very natural looking appearance. Although the injection is commonly associated with frozen looking foreheads, this is not always the case, as this patient demonstrates.

Also, Botox succeeded in improving the appearance of fine crows feet lines, including the minor static wrinkles on the patient’s face.

Getting the best results from injection treatments will depend on choosing a skilled and experienced doctor. Surveys show that patients are most satisfied with physicians who are board certified in the relevant fields of plastic surgery and/or dermatology.

Patient Story: Combination Acne Scar Treatment | West Hollywood, CA | Dr. Jason Emer

Adult acne can be embarrassing and can hinder one from socializing and participating in activities. It’s hard to live your best life when you want to hide at home. That’s why lasers like Clear.+ Brilliant is more than just cosmetics treatments. It is even better for these cases, when used in combination with Isotretinoin, a medication that calms inflammation and helps stop the long-term production of acne.

Clear+Brilliant was used after the active acne calmed down. This is a low-energy, low-density, non-ablative laser that delivers energy into the skin superficially. These laser pulses create millions of microscopic channels in the upper layers of the skin to improve texture, reduce fine lines, minimize pores and replace dead or damaged tissue with healthier and brighter skin. This also encourages the deep remodeling of collagen.

In addition this combination acne-scar treatment plan, included Aerolase, an ablative laser treatment that has become a patient-favorite for skin resurfacing. This is a microsecond erbium laser used to target specifically the superficial part of the skin including scars, sun damage, wrinkles and pores to get aggressive exfoliation over the course of 1-2 weeks depending on the settings.

Towards the end of her series of treatments over the course of a few months, she had almost no scarring, no redness and a vast improvement in her self-confidence. By eight months, she had no blemishes on her skin and was glowing from the inside out with happiness in her new, smooth and clear skin texture.

Meticulous and very careful placement of @xeominaesthetics or similar products such as @botoxcosmetic and #dysport allows for improvement in symmetry, especially of the eyebrows of the upper face. As well, fine line sand movement lines are significantly improved. While nothing is perfect and often fine touch-ups are needed after neurotoxin placement, is extremely important to see an expert to get a great result. Male patients want a more masculine, soft, look without being overly feminized or have a major change in apperance. Placing a neuromodulator incorrectly above the brow can lift brows and feminize a masculine face. Fine placement allowed for improvement, with subtle movement to keep him looking natural but improved.
